A faith based NGO, Zakat and Sadaqat Foundation will on Sunday, Nov. 20 (Safar 20, 1438 A. H) distribute N12 million at its seventh Zakat Distribution Ceremony in the State of Osun.
The event is scheduled to hold at the Kudirat Hall of Western Sun International Hotel, Aisu, Ede road, Ede.
According to a press statement signed by Mallam Moshood Olaoye, the Head, Field Operations of the foundation in the state, 81 individuals, communities and organisations will benefit from the poverty alleviation programme.
“The programme is aimed at empowering the less privileged, support widows and orphans, needies, people with disabilities, poor students among others.
“It is also to complement the policy of government on poverty alleviation and economic empowerment of women, youths and the less-privileged under the Public-Faith-Participation (PFP) scheme,” Olaoye said.
He explained that the foundation would also commission three borehole projects at Wakajaye and Obada Communities in Ede and Oke-Gada Primary Health Care Centre.
“Besides, medical facilities will be donated to Osun State Hospital, Ede. These facilities includes a generator plant for the operation theatre and furniture for the welfare of the staffers and the patients,” Olaoye added.
Gov. Rauf Aregbesola and many other dignitaries like Prof. Taoheed Alamu of the Mechanical Engineering Department, UNIOSUN and Dr Muslim Omoleke, the Director Administrative Secretary of INEC, Ekiti State are expected to witness the event.
