An hijab-wear Muslim lady, Miss Aminat Olamide Ajibola, has again scored first in the field of medical study at the prestigious College of Medicine University of Lagos, as she is to be honoured as the “Best Graduating Student in Nursing for the 2016/2017 Academic Session”.
The Renaissance authoritatively gathered that the college has fixed Friday, Nov. 24 for the 3rd award ceremony of the college of medicine and faculty of pharmacy, during which Aminat would be honoured.
The college had officially conveyed news of the award to the graduating sister via a letter dated Nov. 20 and signed by Prof. M. O. Ogunlewe, Director of Student Affairs.
“It is, therefore, my privilege to inform you that you are to be honoured as the Best Graduating Student in nursing for the 2016/2017 Academic Session.
“You will be presented with a plaque and certificate at the Award Ceremony slated for Nov. 24, 2017,” the letter read in part.
The event is organised annually to recognise distinguished students, who have excelled in their academic endeavours and other social activities in the past academic session.
The Renaissance recalls that a Hijab (Muslim head-cover) wearing sister, Dr Maryam Opeyemi Raji, had emerged as the youngest medical doctor the college ever produced in 2014.
Dr Raji was 21-year-old when she graduated in the 2013/2014 academic session.
