The National leader of the Aĺl Progressïves Congress (APC), Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chaïrman of the Presidentïal Reconciliation Committee, at the weekend, visited Sen Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko as part of moves to reconcile grievances in the ruling party nationwide.
According to a statement signed by the Specïal Assistant to the Senator, Bashir Rabe Mani, Tinubu accompanied on the visit by Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of the state.
Tinubu spoke to newsmen after a closed-door meeting with Wamakko and Tambuwal at Wamakko’s Gawon Nama residence in Sokoto.
Tinubu said, “my visit to Sokoto was a homecoming and we had a family meeting.
“We had a famiĺy talk, we talked of today, we talked of the future of Nîgeria and the future of the APC.”
The Renaissance recalls that President Muhammadu Buhari had earlier in February, appointed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to lead the consultation, reconciliation and confidence-building efforts toward improving cohesion within All Progressives Congress, APC.
In a two-paragraph statement issued by Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, in Abuja, the Presidency had said the assignment would involve resolving disagreements among party members, party leadership and political office holders in some states of the federation.
