Relief came the way of Leke Orekoya family in Lagos on Wednesday morning when received their three children abducted by a nanny, barely 24 hours after she was employed last week.

The children: Denial 6 years, Adedamola 4 years and Aderomola 11 months were rescued by the Police on Tuesday night.

They were abducted from the Orekoya’s residence on Lawani Road, Itire, where relatives and family members had been in anguish and fear since April 7.

It was gathered, from family source, that the children found at Shasha area of Lagos where the kidnappers had abandoned them.

The source quoted the father, Like, as saying that his children were put in bags by the kidnappers, who dropped them at the area.

The kids were abducted on April 8, by the nanny, Mary Akinloye, 23, who was employed the previous day by the mother of the children.

The mother had advertised for the service of a nanny on the OLX online marketing portal.

She was said to have pretended to be taken the children for a walk to buy biscuits for them, shortly after the parent had both gone to work, when she allegedly abducted them.

When the news of the abduction broke out last week Wednesday, it was gathered that the kidnappers made contact with the Orekoyas through the nanny’s mobile phone, demanding for N15 million.

They were said to have later reduced the ransom to N13m, threatening that they would kill the children if the money was not paid within 48 hours.

Meanwhile Mr Kayode Aderanti, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, claimed that the children were rescued by the police.

”When we got to the hideout, we cordoned off the area.

”The kidnappers got the information that we were closing in on them, and what they did was to quickly abandon the children and flee.

”They are beautiful children and we have returned them to their parents,” the commissioner said.
