The Executive Chairman of MPAC, Kamor Disu, in his condolence to the nation on the death of the former president, acknowledged that Shagari’s uprightness shone through his work and many legacies.
Recall that Shagari won elections twice in the 1979 and 1983 presidential election in the second republic, but the 1983 coup terminated his second tenure.
Since then, he had been playing a non-partisan guardian role in the country.
