Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has constructed an ultramodern office to aid the operations of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) in Sokoto State.
The donation of the office complex was announced through a statement issued on Thursday by the senator’s Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bashir Rabe Mani.
Wamakko, representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, was represented at the commissioning of the complex by Prof. Musa Maitafsir, former Religious Affairs Commissioner in the state.
The senator said that the personal gesture was part of his contribution to bolstering the security of lives and property in the state.
The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education pledged to continue doing his best to ensure the security and welfare of the people of the state.
Also speaking, Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal commended Wamakko for the gesture and urged other wealthy Nigerians to emulate him.
Tambuwal, who was represented by the Special Adviser on Security Matters, retired AIG Tambari Muhammad Yabo stated that ensuring the security of lives and property of Nigerians was a collective responsibility.
The Commandant of the Corps in the state, Mr Babangida Abdullahi Dutsinma, thanked the former governor for the gesture.
Dutsinma pledged to use the office judiciously to boost the security of lives and property of the people of the state.
