Adeleke, who currently represents Osun West Senatorial District under the banner of the PDP in the National Assembly, stormed the party secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital with hundreds of his supporters on Wednesday.

He explained that the declaration of intention to run for governorship position is to rescue the state from the ruling party and to wage a major war against unemployment.

“Youths employment will be the focal point of my administration because it is a sustainable panacea to socioeconomic challenges confronting our state.

“I will do everything humanly possible to advance the education sector, just as I will declare a state of emergency in the agricultural sector to revamp our economy if voted,” Adeleke said.

While stating some of his achievements since assumption of office, Adeleke said he had empowered citizens in his senatorial district with over 250 million scholarship to students.

He further expressed ‎confidence in his ability to govern the state by building on the good legacies of his late Brother, Isiaka Adeleke.

“I have the ability to galvanise electorates towards ensuring a remarkable victory in the coming Osun gubernatorial race.

“I hereby call on all party faithful to respect party supremacy, because this is the only way to promote peace, unity and stability in the party.

“While I pledge to support whoever eventually emerges victorious in the party’s primaries, I am at the same time making a strong appeal to the leadership of our party to give me the opportunity to fly the PDP’s flag in the forthcoming election.”

Adeleke assured the party leaders of victory with his candidature and charged the electorates who were yet to get their Permanent Voter Cards to do so.
