The Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, says the Permanent Voter Card ( PVC), is the only weapon power the electorate can use to vote credible candidates of their choices in the 2019 general elections.
Wamakko said at his Gawon Nama, Sokoto, residence when he received various youths and women groups, who came on solidarity visits to him.
“The PVC is a very potent weapon to either vote in or vote out any candidates seeking to occupy any elective offices.
“So, without it, one would not be able to exercise his due constitutional responsibility of casting his or her vote in the nation’s electoral process,” he added.
Senator Wamakko, therefore, admonished the people of the state to strive to collect the PVCs as the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC), is still distributing the cards.
According to Wamakko, any electorate who fails to collect the cards would disenfranchise himself or herself during the forthcoming general elections.
Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, further appealed to the people of the state to shun all acts capable of breaching peace and unity.
“Peace is the veritable tool of national development and without it, no nation could prosper to greater heights.
“We should therefore as patriotic citizens continue to uphold the noble virtues of peace, unity and the love for one another, irrespective of any religious, ethnic or political affinities,” the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education, urged.
