PDP criminalises Dariye’s defection to APC

The recent cross carpeting by Sen. Joshua Dariye of PDP in Plateau State the ruling APC has been labelled as criminal.

Addressing newsmen in Jos on Friday, The Chairman of PDP in the state, Chief Damishi Sango described Dariye’s political move as unconstitutional.
According to Sango, it is criminal for the senator to carry the mandate of a party to another party.

“Dariye’s defection from PDP to APC is not only criminal, but unconstitutional.

“He rode on PDP’s back to become a senator, but he worked for the APC during the last general elections.

“We knew he is PDP in the day time, but APC at night.

“So, we were not surprised when he defected,” tthe PDP chairman said.

Sango said that PDP would take legal actions if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not declare Dariye’s seat vacant.

Dariye had, recently in a letter to the Senate, notified of his defection to the APC

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at a plenary session few weeks ago, announced his defection to the APC.
