The 3rd Day special Fidau prayer was on Thursday held for late Alhaja Saratu Aregbesola, the mother of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State.
Madam Aregbesola passed-on onTuesday in Ilesa town, Osun state.
Leading the prayers in Ilesa, the Mufaashir of Osogbo, Alhaji Moruf Ishola who delivered a special sermon at the Fidau programme (funeral) said while the demise of a loved one could be painful, human beings must realise that death is part of the process of life.
He said death should rather be seen as a transition to glory but not of sorrow.
In a special Qur’an rendition and appreciation speech on behalf of the family, the Governor’s son, Kabir Aregbesola noted that death is inevitable and no human could escape from it.
He posited that when a human being goes to sleep, his soul is taken by God and that those who wake up the next day are the fortunate ones who have their souls returned into their body.
He said the death of their grandmother was a shock to them since she was in good condition of health, but acknowledged that God knows best and His wish alone prevails
Among notable guests are the Fidau prayer is the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Senator Bola Tinubu, former Governors of Osun State, Chief Bisi Akande and Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senator Olusola Adeyeye, Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, Professor Is’haq Oloyede, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, law makers from across the states and many monarchs
Others include past and present commissioners in the state, chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, both in the state and at the National level, state government officials, religious clerics among others.
