One of the governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has declared that there was no zoning arrangement in the party constitution.
Oyetola made the declaration while announcing governorship ambition to newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital.
The aspirant, who is the Chief of staff to Gov. Rauf Aregbesola, boasted that he has what it take to clinch the APC ticket ahead of Sept. 22 election.
He promised that, if elected as the next governor, his administration would intensify efforts and come up with stronger strategies to ensure prompt payment of workers’ salaries and pensions.
Debunking the rumour that he is Aregbesola sole candidate, Oyetola said he would not need to be campaigning anymore if the governor has endorsed him.
Oyetola emphasised that is ambition was God promise, saying the job at hand was too urgent to be left alone for just anyone unprepared.
“I believe I am the man for such a moment as this. I have the experience, pedigree, I’m dependable, accessible and most of all, l am that person that will voice your concerns and represent each and every one of you at the right places,” the aspirant said.
He said the state would be the main hub of agriculture in Nigeria, saying enhanced agricultural activities would boost food security, improve the state revenues and reduce the dependence on the dwindling monthly allocations from Abuja.
Oyetola assured that his administration would seek a gradual and inclusive civil service reform, make the work environment more conducive, stimulating and development-oriented with sustained reward mechanisms and keep workers morale high.
He promised to work with well-meaning bureaucrats, urgently increase the internally generated revenue (IGR), base and block “all leakages of the Osun Commonwealth”.
