Ondo Dep-Gov’s daughter found dead in boyfriend’s home


A final year student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko and daughter of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Alhaji Lasisi Olugbenga Oluboyo, Miss Adenike Khadijat Oluboyo has on Sunday found dead at her boyfriend’s house in Akure.

The Renaissance gathered that Khadijat’s already decomposing body was found in her boyfriend’s room, “behind Apata” in  Danjuma Area of Akure on Saturday.

The boyfriend, Adeyemi Alao (popularly known as Q.S. lives with his parent in the house in Akure.

A family source told The Renaissance that Khadijat had been declared missing since Thursday when she was expected to have arrived Akure from Akungba where she was schooling.

Before she left Akungba, Khadijat was said to have called the wife of her senior brother, telling her that she was coming home. A search party was immediately raised, searching her travelling route from Akungba through Owo town down to Akure.

The Renaissance also gathered that Khadijat’s already decomposing body was later found in Adeyemi’s.

It was learnt that the incident came into the open when Adeyemi asked one of his junior sisters to go and buy a sack for him, ostensibly to disposed of the body.

But the girl perceived a strange odour from her brother’s room and quickly alert their father, who promptly reported the matter to the police.

Mr Femi Joseph, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), in Ondo State confirmed the story, describing the incident as saddening and very unfortunate.

“The young lady was found dead this morning and it is saddening and very unfortunate.

“We are on it and trying to get some facts but the Commissioner of Police will brief the press about the details in another 48 hours,” Joseph said.
