The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) says it has trained 50 women in cosmetics production during a five-day training workshop held at Osogbo.
The workshop was aimed at creating job opportunities for the unemployed in the society.
The acting Director General of the directorate, Mr Kunle Obayan, who was represented at the workshop by the State Coordinator, Mr Sola Dartmoor, said the 50 women were selected and trained on income generating products and activities.
They include productions of body and hair cream, liquid soap, antiseptic, disinfectant and air freshener.
Others are detergent, perfume, baby oil, laundry soap and wash liquid soap productions.
Obayan stressed that the philosophy of skills acquisition and business training of NDE was in line with the policy of the government to promote massive job creation this year.
He stated that hundreds of women cooperative groups have recently participated in and benefited from various trainings held by the establishment in food processing, event management, cake making, interior decoration, batik as well as tie and dye.
This he said have equipped various participants to set up micro enterprises for livelihood and self reliance.
The acting DG admonished other public and private institutions to approach the NDE for adequate collaboration, especially in the areas of jobs creation for national development.
He said the establishment will always be available to render adequate support to its trainees to enhanced their business operations and make them profitable.
