A young chartered accountant, Adewura Latifat Bello, aged 26, who went missing on Wednesday, May 15, on her way home from work has been reportedly found dead in a Lagos canal.
During the time she went missing, there were concerted efforts by the twitter community to make sure she was found as people kept calling for information about her whereabouts.
The news of her reported death, however, broke on the micro-messaging site on Sunday, May 26, as people expressed sadness over her demise.

“We depart to meet again till we Meet again Adewura Forever in our Heart God I am in pains but who am I the question you. RIP,” a friend, Benjamin Action twitted on his Twitter handle @theactionben
Another Twitter user with the name @pathfinder put the blame on the negligence of the authorities who ought to have been proactive in the search for her.
“Thanks for the search. Adewura is dead. “Negligence by the relevant authorities, as usual.
“An unnecessary death due to an open manhole during a storm.
“Manhole was left open but fully covered with the flood, she and the bike man missed it due to bad visibility. She wasn’t aware.”
Another Twitter user, “Mayowa of Lagos” lamented the fact that some people scammed the parents of the deceased lady by giving them a wrong address of where she was held hostage after collecting money.
“Just read that someone scammed the family of Adewura and gave them a fake address of where she was being held after collecting money.
“Nah. I’m actually heartbroken. This is the most callous thing I have ever heard,” Mayowa twitted.
