Barely 72 hours after diving into to the lagoon in a suicide mission, the corpse of Dr Allwell Orji was on Wednesday afternoon recovered by the  Marine Police.

The Renaissance recalls that  late Orji, a medical practitioner, om Sunday dived into the lagoon, after ordering his driver to stop the car while on the Third Mainland Bridge.

The General Manager, Lagos Sate Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Mr Adesina Tiamiyu, told newsmen in Lagos that the body was recovered at about 4.00 p.m.

“The body was identified by some of the deceased’s family members, including the driver and in the presence of the State Police Commissioner, Mr Fatai Owoseni,” the LASEMA boss said.

He added that the body was been handed over to the family while investigation continues.

Tiamiyu expressed his condolences on behalf of the State Government and declared the search closed.

The Renaissance gathered that the deceased, until the incidence, was working at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Surulere area of Lagos State.
