Foundation tasks Nigerians on mutual assistance

A philanthropic foundation, Zakat and Sadaqa Foundation on Sunday advised Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper by assisting one another in the face of the present economic challenges in the country.
The coordinator  of of the Oshodi/Isolo local government chapter of the foundation, Mr Abideen Nasrudeen, gave this advice at the annual Community Relief Package programme held in Lagos.
Abideen said that the hard times Nigerians are currently experiencing called for mutual cooperation among all segments of society.
He challenged wealthy individuals and organisations to come to the aid of the less privileged persons in the society, who could barely afford the basic necessities of life like food, clothing and shelter.
Abideen said that the community relief package programme of the Foundation was designed to provide food, clothing and other materials to the less privileged in the Council area.
More than 200 Nigerians in Oshodi, Isolo and Ejigbo communities benefited from the programme.
Some of the beneficiaries commended the foundation for the kind gesture at this difficult time.
They called on other spirited individuals and organisations to take emulate the Zakat and Sadaqa Foundation with a view to ameliorating the plight of poverty stricken Nigerians.
