The Egyptian government, Tuesday said it would pay $3280 as compensation to the families of fans who died outside a stadium in Cairo on Sunday.
Spokesman for the country’s Health Ministry said in Cairo that 19 fans died at the stadium.
But the public prosecutor’s office said there were 22 fatalities while Zamalek supporters group claimed the death figure was 28.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian Football Federation postponed all domestic matches indefinitely.
It said that there would be another meeting after the three days of mourning with all parties concerned to discuss resuming football matches.
Mahmoud El-Shami, the Egyptian FA board member said the league should resume as soon as possible.
