An independent oil marketer in Osogbo, Mr Abiodun Olaore, has advised Nigerians to be more patience with President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in its efforts to put the nation’s economy back on the path of recovery.
Olaore, Chairman of the Mobile Stopover petrol station in Ogo-Oluwa Area, gave the advice during an interactive session with newsmen in Osogbo.
He said that the rot economy that had raged for decades could not be corrected in a jiffy if truly we want a genuine and sustainable change.
He said that there was need for the organised private sector operators to support the government to right all the wrongs of the past administration.
“I believe corporate social responsibility is mandatory for private investors operating within the shore of Nigeria, especially in this economic recession in order to facilitate a quick recovery,” he said.
Olaore explained that the society could not attain enviable level of economic progress and social advancement if there was no complementary contribution from the people, especially private business owners to support efforts of the government.
According to him, the corporate social responsibility (CRS) remained sacrosanct for every business owner as a way of giving back to the society.
He said that the philosophy behind his array of investments in the state was to help the society which has given much to him in all ways.
Olaore remarked that the environment in any business determines its success and level of profit-margin, adding that the peaceful atmosphere in Osun made the business environment more conducive, despite the harsh economy.
He enjoined Nigerians and people of the state, in particular, to exercise patience and support the government of the day in all its policies.
“The future is bright for the nation, if we can endevour for a while more”.
The businessman noted that that was the spirit that propelled his business interest in the state.
He said that he was convinced on the need to give back to the society, which has given him so much in all ramifications.
“This is also the rationale behind out Raffle Draw Promo, in which we are giving out minibuses, motorcycles, generators and other household appliances as a way of saying `thank you’ to our teeming customers.
“I believe there is need to compensate and motivate them to do more,” he said.
Meanwhile, the raffle draw has been slated to Nov. 7, to mark the one year anniversary of the station.
