Mr Adeshina Tiamiyu, the General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), has declared there was no casualty left under the debris of the collapsed building on No. 63 Massey Street, Ita-Faaji area of Lagos Island.
The Renaissance reports that scores of pupils of a school and other residents were buried in the three-storey building that collapsed mid-day on Wednesday.
A pregnant woman, the proprietor of the nursery/Primary school and 19 others, including no fewer than 12 pupils died in the collapsed building, according to witnesses and hospital sources said.
Tiamiyu, who spoke with newsmen at the site of the incident on Thursday morning, confirmed that all casualty trapped in the collapsed building have all been rescued.
He, however, said LASEMA could not confirm the total figure of casualty rescued from the building.
The manager said the Ministry of Health would release the accurate figure later in the day.
Meanwhile, the state Deputy Governor, Dr Idiat Adebule, paid a visit to some survivors of the incident at the hospital and commiserate with families of those who died.
