President Muhammadu Buhari has terminated the appointments of Mr Babachir Lawal; Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF) and Ayo Oke; former Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency.
The Renaissance reports that sack of the duo is contained in a State House statement signed by Mr Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
The statement is entitled: “President Buhari appoints Boss Mustapha new SGF, terminates appointments of Babachir Lawal, Ayo Oke”.
Adesina stated that President Buhari had studied the report of the panel headed by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, which investigated allegations against the suspended SGF Lawal and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr Ayo Oke.
Buhari accepted the recommendation of the panel to terminate the appointment of Mr Lawal and has appointed Mr Boss Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The appointment takes immediate effect.
The President also approved the recommendation to terminate the appointment of Oke and has further approved the setting up of a three-member panel to look into the operational, technical and administrative structure of the Agency and make appropriate recommendations.
