Speaking at the campaign ground in Osogbo, Osun state capital, Abubakar promised to create an enabling environment for women and the teeming youths across the country.
“If elected on February 16, I will give 40 per cent appointments to the youths and 30 per cent will go to women who play very prominent roles in the nation’s development.
“I have said this before and I am repeating it, you can quote me, it is a promise,” he said.
The former vice president also promised to kickstart the process of restructuring which will lead to a massive transformation of Nigeria.
According to him, the All Progressives Congress-led government has failed to deliver on its electoral promises.
While urging people to be prepared to defend their votes, the presidential candidate urged the electorates to be conscious of their civic right and not to allow their votes to be stolen.
The National Chairman of PDP, Mr Uche Secondus who blamed the economic hardship on the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government advised the electoral umpire and the security agents to maintain a high level of neutrality in the coming election.
He tasked them to work in the overall interest of Nigeria and not in connivance with the ruling party.
Secondus stressed that Nigeria needs an agile and healthy president who understands the pains and sufferings of the citizens and who will quickly lift the citizens out of poverty.
“I want to warn INEC and security agents to be neutral.
“The new Inspector General of Police Adamu Muhammad should clean the mess left behind by the former IG.
“Police is an institution to secure the lives of the people and not a section of the people or a cabal,”  the party chairman said.
Other speakers who urged the electorates to support Alhaji Abubakar with their votes to actualise his rescue mission included former Governor of Osun, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Governor of Ekiti, Mr Ayodele Fayose, Mrs Titi Abubakar among others.
