Ganduje disclosed this during a special prayer session for the late religious scholar and businessman, Sheikh Ishaq Rabi’u, at the deceased’s Goron Dutse residence in Kano city.

The governor told the gathering that during his lifetime, the late sage was passionate about his desire to actualise the establishment of a private university to be named At-Tanzeel University.

He pointed out that on some occasions, the late Sheikh personally took him to the proposed university complex to assess its completion.

Ganduje, therefore, assured that his administration “will do its best to support the family to actualise the project”.

He expressed confidence that, with what he knew about the family, they would do everything possible to remain united and keep their father’s dreams alive.

He urged them to take solace in the fact that their patriarch lived and died in the service of Allah and humanity and that such was worthy of emulation.

The governor also announced the donation of a parcel of land to the BUA Foundation to construct an ultra-modern specialist hospital in the state.

BUA Foundation is owned by Alhaji Abdussamad Rabi’u one of the children of the late Islamic scholar.

Ganduje explained that compensation had been paid for the land, in the heart of Kano city while those individuals hitherto conducting sundry commercial endeavours on it would be suitably relocated.

The governor noted that the hospital, when completed, would have state-of-the-art facilities and professional staff that would provide Nigerians, especially those in Kano, with the needed quality health care services.

“This new hospital will support the work of our two new hospitals.

“I am happy to inform you that we have resolved to name the new Pediatric Hospital at Zoo road after our late Sheikh Ishaq Rabi’u in view of his contributions to the progress of our people,” the governor said.

In his remark on behalf of the family, Alhaji Nafi’u Rabiu thanked the governor for his respect for their father and for identifying with the family in the trying period.

Rabiu also expressed appreciation to the governor for approving land for the hospital.
