The Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has tasked the prospective corps members deployed to the state to imbibe the spirit of humility and selfless service.
Aregbesola said this at the swearing-in ceremony of the 2017 Batch ‘A’ stream II Orientation Course held at the Permanent Camp, Ede, Osun State on Friday.
The Governor who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Empowerment and Youth Development, Mrs Folake Adegboyega urged the corps members to shun every vices and behaviour capable of jeopardizing the success and peace of the orientation course.
“He said to be loving and courteous to your fellow compatriots. Embrace our change mantra and let that positive change begin with you”.
He stressed that corps members should ensure to internalize every idea of the scheme which is geared towards integrating and unifying the nation as one.
He admonished the corps members to stand by the oath sworn and strive to always work towards the achievement of the objectives of the scheme as spelt out to you by the management.
Speaking, the Osun State Director of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr Emmanuel Attah enjoined the corps members to participate actively in the exercise so as to be self-reliant and better informed.
He charged the prospective corps members to be patriotic and most importantly pay more attention to the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme.
He said a total of 2,077 participants comprising 1,695 Male and 382 Female were registered for the 2017 Batch ‘A’ Stream ll Orientation course and the scheme is fully prepared to ensure a hitch free programme.
According to him, the orientation exercise is the launching pad for all that you are going to do during the service year.
Attah explained that platform has also been fashioned out for not only your physical training but also to cater for your intellectual, spiritual, social and moral needs.
