Gov, Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has described the death of the former Finance Minister and ex-Governor of Central Bank, Mallam Adamu Ciroma, as a huge loss to the nation.
In a release made by available to newsmen on Thursday in Osogbo, Aregbesola said Ciroma’s death was painful.
He noted the late former presidential aspirant was an astute politician and one of the respectable political voices in Northern Nigeria.
“Ciroma as a politician had been around for long and in the service of the country in numerous capacities both at the state and national level.
“As a principled politician’, Ciroma supported the June 12, 1993, Presidential election, won by late Chief MKO Abiola,” Aregbesola stated.
The governor said history would be kind to Mallam Ciroma for taking this position.
