The Court of Appeal has sacked Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate of the PDP in Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.

The court, therefore, ordered that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should replace Ibrahim with Eyitayo Jegede, who belongs to the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the party.
The Justice Ibrahim Saulawa led three-man Special Panel of the appellate court delivered the judgement by 12noon on the appeal that was lodged by Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), who had earlier been given the PDP governorship ticket.
Ibrahim had gone to secure a ruling from Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, declaring him s the PDP candidate.
The appellate court set aside a ruling of the Federal High Court by Justice Okon Abang, which declared Ibrahim as the PDP candidate.
All the objections filed by Ibrahim and his loyalists at the Appeal Court were also dismissed.
The Renaissance reports that the INEC had in October, following the lower court judgement, named Ibrahim as the candidate of the PDP Nov. 26 governorship election Ondo State.
