The All Progressives Congress ( APC), in Osun State, has clinched the only remaining state assembly seat in a supplementary poll held at Oriade, in Oriade Local Government on Saturday.
The election in the constituency was earlier declared inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on March 9.
The inconclusiveness of the exercise was because the margin between the winner and the runner up was less than the number of registered voters in the areas where there was cancellation of votes.
In the rerun election, the APC candidate, Arch. Babatunde Ojo polled the total of 702 votes to defeat his closest rival from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Barr. Pelumi Olajegbensi, who scored 9 votes.
According to INEC, APC eventually polled a total of 12088 votes, while PDP scored 9913 votes.
It will be recalled that the APC had earlier won 22 out of the 26 assembly seats in the state, leaving PDP with three.
As it stands now, APC now has a total of 23 out of 26 seats.
