Tebligh leader, 2 others die in auto crash

The death of the Ameer (National President) and two other principal elders of the Tabligh Jamaat of Nigeria (TJN) have been announced.

The trios were said to have died in a fatal road accident on Sunday, Dec. 10, along the Oyo/Ogbomosho/Ilorin road.

The deceased are Sheikh Yishau Mubarak, the Ameer; Alhaji Ismail Tiamiyu (Lagos Island) and Alhaji Ismail Junaid (Festac Town).

The deceased, alongside other elders of the Da’wah movement, was involved in the auto crash while returning from Ilorin in Kwara State, where they went for a religious deliberation.

Other elders in the entourage, sustained varying degrees of injury while the driver escaped unscathed.

The cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained as at the time of filing this report.

Imam Qasim Akinsola, who broke the news on Facebook, wrote: “It will be recalled that the Amir gave the comprehensive concluding Dua at the just concluded Ogun State Ijtima’h held on Saturday, Dec. 1 in Abeokuta.

“The Amir will be remembered for his selflessness and Da’wah efforts.
“He travelled far and wide, both locally and internationally, for numerous Da’wah activities,” Akinsola said.
